- COVERAGES: COVERAGES PURCHASED ON THIRD PARTY WEBSITES OR INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE NOT ACCEPTED BY THRIFTY CAR RENTAL, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.
- To prepaid basic / exclusive product cdw or ldw is mandatory at counter.
- IF LDW/CDW is declined, the renter will be responsible for the full value of the THRIFTY vehicle, if there is an accident. LDW / CDW is mandatory for vehicle groups (M8 / PFAR) Kia Sorento or similar, (L4 / LFAR) Chevrolet Traverse or similar and (V / SVAR) Hyundai H1 or similar. LDW/CDW - Zero deductible, cost ranges from $26.00 to $32.00 depending on the car type. SLI/LIS MANDATORY (Supplemental Liability Insurance) extends coverage of legal liability up to RD$1.00 to RD$1,200,000.00 Dominican Pesos, cost of the coverage is US$9.95 per day. Tires and Glass Protection (TG) is optional at a cost of $3.95 per day, release the customer to no deductible for this item, the one not included at LDW/CDW protection for any vehicle. PAI - is available at a cost of $5.00 per day, all cars. LOU - Loss of Use is available at a cost of $5.00 per day, all cars.
- ADDITIONAL DRIVERS: Additional drivers must qualify with a valid driver's license in their own name. Additional Drivers will be charged a fee of USD $7.50 per day.
- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Conc. Recovery Fee 10% from TK, Vehicle Licensee fee USD $2.50 per day, will apply to all Reservations.
- AFTER HOUR RETURNS: After Hour Returns:After hour returns must be arranged with rental counter in advance.
- DRIVING RESTRICTIONS: Driving is on the right side of the road. Vehicles may not be driven into Haiti or taken off of the island.
- FINANCIAL POLICY: THRIFTY/DOLLAR:Acceptable credit cards are: American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Diner's Club and Discover. Debit Cards are accepted however, rental restrictions and qualifications will apply. LDW is mandatory using debit cards. At the time of rental a security deposit will be obtained on your credit card based on the estimated rental charges plus the amounts below. IF CDW/LDW is declined USD 1,500 ECAR,CCAR, ICAR. 2,200 for Full-size SUV, Plus the Estimated Rental Charges. There must be sufficient credit on your card to cover all charges. IF CDW/LDW is accepted, USD 200.00, Plus the Estimated Rental Charges. There must be sufficient credit on your card to cover all charges. Prepaid Vouchers are accepted if accompanied by an accepted credit card. Cash is only accepted for payment at the end of the rental
- NON-SMOKING FLEET: This location now has a non-smoking policy and carries only non-smoking vehicles. Renters who do not comply with the new policy and return vehicles after smoking may face a charge of up to $25.00.
- REFUELING POLICY: Vehicles rented with a full tank of fuel must be returned full to avoid a locally determined refueling charge. Pre-Paying for your tank of fuel is available. The refuel charge will be taxable by law in the Dominican Republic with 18% tax.
- RENTER QUALIFICATIONS: A valid driver’s license in the customers own name must be presented at the time of pick up. Renter must have held driver’s license for minimum of 1 year. subject to qualification by the rental agent at the counter. Drivers 19-20 can drive the following vehicles Only, Compact Car, Compact SUV, Economy Car, Full-size Car, Mid-size Car, and Mini Car. Drivers 19-23 will be charged an underage fee of $5.00 taxable per day.
- RESERVATION AND RENTAL ADJUSTMENTS: Any changes to the reservation or rental may result in a change of rate or additional fees
- Drop Off available to pay at counterus$100.00.
